UP TO 95 per cent of residents offered the Selective En bloc Redevelopment Scheme (Sers) are happy with their new flats, HDB reviewed on Friday.
Sers is part of the Government's Estate Renewal Strategy for the older public housing estates where residents involved are rehoused in new flats nearby.
Households were satisfied that:
-They can live in the same estate after their move to the new replacement flats (99 per cent)
-They have a better living environment (99per cent)
-They can live close to their previous neighbours (95per cent)
-Compared to 89 per cent in 2007, the latest survey findings revealed that 97 per cent of households found their new homes value for money as well.
On top of bringing extensive benefits to residents living in older estates, Sers also rejuvenates these estates by drawing in younger residents and revitalising the estate's demographic profile.
Wait wait.....why do they need to come up with surveys to tell the whole of sg that people are happy are with SERS lol.
I have heard feedback that SERS can impose new and high loans on the owners as compared to their old house which has been fully paid up.
