FLOODS have returned to Singapore amid heavy, incessant rain since Saturday.
Readers of The Straits Times Online have been sending in reports of flooding, which seem mostly concentrated in the eastern part of Singapore.
Awakening Cryztalrella wrote on The Straits Times' Facebook fanpage: 'Flooding along the whole road at Bedok Town park towards Bedok North Ave 3, i.e. after the PIE overhead bridge towards B07 Bus stop (Bus 18, 28, etc). It has become inaccessible during heavy downpour.'
On Twitter, quelynxandever and iamsurebbyrz reported flooding at the Singapore Expo, and Loyang Avenue near Changi prison.
User CW of citizen journalism site STOMP also sent in pictures of a flooded carpark at Tampines Street 32, which showed it submerged in water.
CW wrote: 'The basement carpark was flooded during these two days of non-stop rain.'
On their website, the National Environment Agency said widespread moderate to heavy rain is expected between 11.30am and midnight on Sunday.
Bridge under construction at Punggol The Waterway collapses
A partially completed bridge at the construction site opposite his house collapsed under the weight of rainwater on Sunday morning, reported The Straits Times Reader Simon Low who took and sent in a picture from his flat in Block 638b Punggol Drive.
In an email report to The Straits Times website, Mr Low wrote: 'This morning, I noticed part of the bridge had collapsed due to the heavy rain.
'I believe the bridge also acted as a dam, but the water overflowed (from the right side) the partially built bridge, and pushed the bridge away.
'The banks of the waterway on the right side of the bridge overflowed due to this morning's heavy rain. I wonder whether it will happen again once the waterway is fully completed.'

Nonsense.
This is just the start of the next 50 years.
This flooding issue will be censored from the news tonight as it happened twice in 50 years.
Therefore, it is not a concern.
The millionsters in charge is busy decoding the code in the old man new book that he will not be able to lower the water level.

For those who really likes/loves heavy rain and floods, you probably going to enjoy the next few years in Singapore, because they will come more and more frequent.
For those who still has no idea what is going on, it is wise to have a disaster recovery plan in case of massive flooding in Singapore. Low-lying areas, basements, tunnels etc, should be classified as "high risk".
If you know what happened in Australia recently, you will know that this is really a serious matter.
For people who prefers to whine/complaint about SG.GOV or PUB not doing
enough to prevent floods, I hope that you will understand that a lot of
events happening is beyond the control of human beings.
I understand why the SG.GOV wants to hide information from its people but if they are smart/wise, they should prepare Singaporeans to face the reality or at least inform us about the weather changes.
Singapore is a small area, don't compare with Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia.
What ever happened to our Marina Barrage?
I thought it was suppose to control floods.
Lately I walk along Orchard Road, I see that they have errected levees on the side of the roads, they planning to use the roads as rivers for sampan?
We can become the Venice of Asia.
