Foodcourt cleaners asked diners for oranges

  MY FAMILY and I went to the Food Republic foodcourt at VivoCity for dinner last Saturday. We found seats next to a table occupied by six Malaysian tourists, and noticed that there were a few carrier bags from Resorts World Sentosa on their table.

  A few minutes later, a foodcourt cleaner approached the tourists and talked to them. She then requested for Mandarin oranges. One of the foreigners reluctantly gave her two and she walked away. Minutes later, another two cleaners also asked the group to give them Mandarin oranges as well as the carrier bags.

  I called Food Republic and related the encounter to a person named Mr Goh. He said the company was also a victim and that he was aware of the problem. However, the company could not do much to stop the cleaners.

  I hope Food Republic can prevent the cleaners from doing such things.
