INSTEAD of waiting to receive the Christmas spirit, one man decided to help himself.
A 25-year-old man allegedly broke into Cathedral of the Good Shepherd, along Victoria Street.
The church reported several items missing on Dec 21, which included computers, a digital camera, a guitar and a watch. They all added up to about $2,600 in value.
The suspect is believed to have entered the church by forcing the main doors open.
After the suspect's identity was established, police made the arrest along Orchard Road on Monday at about 5pm.
The suspect will be charged in Court on Wednesday for the offence of Housebreaking and Theft by Night under Section 457 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries a maximum imprisonment term of 14 years.
