AN ELDERLY woman died on Monday, 16 hours after she fell while alighting from a private bus. The bus was dropping off Madam Tang Ah Yang, 68, near her home in Bedok, after a tour with a group of senior citizens to Jurong on Sunday evening.
It is not known whether there was a guide present to help her get off the bus.
She tripped and fell, hitting the back of her head against the pavement, but dismissed it as not serious, saying she did not need medical attention.
Mr Tan Swee Hee, her younger brother, said friends who were present observed that she had appeared completely fine after the fall.
However, they urged her to see a doctor since it was a head injury, and she was taken to Changi General Hospital by ambulance five minutes later. She died of head injuries at about noon the next day.
The mother of four, who was described as generous and easy-going, was generally healthy and frequently went for walks with her husband, Mr Tan said. 'There should have been a guide when there were so many senior citizens,' the 60-year-old added.
A guide is to guide the tour -
if you need help to get on and off a bus - then 1) stay at home or 2) hired nurse.
Face the fact - people also can fail down walking on flat path.It is a accident, nothing can be help.
if no on fell or died, no one would be questioning a tour guide's duty rite?
The finger-pointing game starts......

RIP
RIP.
Learnt from this incident.
Whenever a elderly goes up or down the coach, there MUST have someone at the door way to lend a helping hand to ensure the safety of the elderly pple.
tt day oso got old lady fell down stairs and die
shall we have someone at each staircase oso?
I mean those coaches, I ever joined 1 day tour with elderly pple to johor.
And whenever the coach stop, the tour guide will be the first to go down, took out a wooden box and placed it in front of the door way to make a additional steps to the ground level.
Then stand at the door way, lending a hand to the elderly pple.
Hdb staircase, cannot lah, that is the family responsibilities.
this kind of mundane news also need to post here meh ???

actually her death could be a cause of intra cranial bleeding (internal bleeding inside the brain).
it may or may not be detected and the victim may lose consciousness, eventually die

That is the most scary part isnt it?
Where pple fall and knock onto the head and say no pain.
So, meaning it will be hard to detect any sign at all?

Usually there are symptoms
for instance, a throbbing headache, dizziness, blurred vision, slurred speech
alternatively, scan for blood clots, but the time taken to develop the bleeding may be too slow for it to detected..........therefore, take notice of the symptoms i mentioned especially after an elderly falls down.....we young people no issue with such falls one
blood come out from nose.....
