A 37-YEAR-OLD man suspected of being responsible for a series of coffee shop break-ins has been arrested by the police.
Between October and December 2010, several cases of break-ins at coffee shops in Geylang East Central, Upper Boon Keng Road and Bedok North were reported.
The burglar stole mainly cash and cigarettes from these coffee shops, amounting to about $6,550 in total.
Police caught the suspect red-handed early on Tuesday morning, as he attempted to break into another coffee shop along Upper Boon Keng Road.
The man will be charged in court on Wednesday morning.

A MAN has been arrested by the police and will be charged for breaking into a coffee shop.
Early on Wednesday morning, police received a report that a coffee shop along Toh Yi Drive had been broken into.
The 45-year-old man had forced open window panes at the back of the coffee shop and entered, making off with 10 packets of cigarettes and $150 in cash.
Police investigated the crime, and arrested the suspect on Thursday morning at Toh Yi Drive.
The suspect will be charged in court on Friday.
