A Fujian province man, Mr Lin, and his friend came to Singapore from Xiamen using his China passport. However, when their tourist visit pass expired, they did not return back to China. Mr Lin continued to work illegally in Singapore.
Subsequently, Mr Lin spent 4000 Ringgit to buy a fake Malaysia passport. On 21 November 10.30 am, Mr Lin boarded a plane in Singapore to leave for Haikou, China. His fake Malaysian passport was exposed by the China customs at Haikou Meilan International Airport. Mr Lin was fined 2000 RMB and his fake Malaysian passport was confiscated.
On 21st November 10.30am, a flight from Singapore to Haikou, TR2934, arrived at Haikou Meilan International Airport. Over 100 passengers awaits the inspection at the security check. A well-dressed man approached a security check counter manned by an police officer named Xiao Luo. The man handed in his Malaysian passport. The man passport had been used, and had various visa seal stamped all over the pages.
The officer carefully looked through every page of the passport, and found the passport to be highly suspicious. Seeing that the police was scanning his passport thoroughly, the man claimed that the same passport had been used to travel out of Singapore on various times, hence the authenticity of the passport should be trusted. While closely monitoring the actions of the man, Xiao Luo informed the higher-ups about the situation. Through careful investigation by the other inspectors, they verified that the passport was fake. The man with the fake passport was detained for further investigation.
During the investigation process, the man repeatedly claimed himself to be a Malaysian citizen and that his passport was real. The customs performed further checks on the man’s personal belongings in his luggage, and found his PRC identification card, with the name Lin XX on it, and also a work permit from Singapore. Upon retrieving the residential registration information, they confirmed that the man was from Fujian Province, Pintan County.
According to Mr Lin, he arrived in Singapore during May 1998. Both he and his friend were on a one month tourist visa from Xiamen to Singapore. However, they did not return home when their visa expired. They chose to work in Singapore illegally (打黑工 known as undeclared employment). In 2006, Mr Lin spent 4000 ringgit to create a fake Malaysia passport. In 2007, he spent 2000 SGD to get his work permit approved using the fake Malaysian passport.
On 23rd November, Mr Lin was fined for possession of forged travel documents and was fined 2000 RMB.
After confirming that he could no longer return to Singapore to earn his keep, Mr Lin appeared extremely upset and said:
“ I was hiding in Singapore for the past 12 years, and the Singapore government never found me. I spent a fortune making that fake passport and also getting that work permit. I could travel out of Singapore without restrictions. But I did not expect myself to get the caught on my first trip back to China.”
It appears that our ICA really ought to explain themselves on why the China customs were able to detect the forged passport whereas our ICA couldn’t on various events. Why did the Straits Times even bother censoring this news, shouldn’t this news be released to let the public know the possible existence of corruption that exist within our ICA. How did the overstayer not get arrested in Singapore for 12 years? How did his work permit get approved using a fake passport? How did he get out of Singapore through legal transportation means on various occasions?

Some chinese broadcasters are from China but they are trained to speak in a local accent. Mass media companies are all stationed with ISDee agents to control the news so they will never be cheap but they can talk cock alot. -
