SINGAPORE: Cable car
operator Mount Faber Leisure Group temporarily ceased operations on
Tuesday due to bad weather.
The Group said it was taking
precautionary measures to monitor the situation and ensure operations
continue as per normal
It has since resumed operations after the
bad weather cleared.
On Sunday, the cable car system was also
halted when lightning activity was detected.
In line with
standard operating procedures, the crew immediately conducted a safety
inspection on the cable car system.
Within minutes, communication
was put out to guests who were riding in the cabins at the time.
There
were 20 guests who were seated in four to five cabins and they were
asked to remain calm as stoppage is normal.
The inspections
showed that there were no disruptions to the electrical system.
In
the meantime, the cable car's independent backup system was activated
to re-start the rides and bring the cabins to the nearest cable car
station.
All guests were given a full refund.
