Singapore among world's most corrupt nations

Singapore is the world's eighth most corrupt nation, according to our rankings. It is a haven for secrecy and one of the biggest, and fastest-rising, sinks for illicit, tax evading and criminal loot from developing and other countries around the world. Just look here to see some of the things that Singaporeans have been saying about their country, for instance.

So we are distressed to see Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) ranking Singapore as the world's "cleanest" country, alongside Denmark and New Zealand. It is not the cleanest. It is one of the dirtiest.

Transparency International, to be fair, has supported the Financial Secrecy Index, which is in the process of being updated (though results won't be out any time soon.) But this CPI is showing a very false picture of what is really going on in the world.

Wahey, we're ranked lower than a certain European country that we once aspired to be like. And the Singaporean most quoted (as opposed to "Singaporeans as mentioned in the post) is CSJ.

hmm, seems like another naive andone-sided view on the pap again. besides grousing on the high taxes here, have u guys actually opened ur eyes and looked at the world? the so-called haven u see as australia takes away half ur income for tax in exchange for lousy social help. indonesia imposes high taxes on everyone that easily dwarfs the GST tax PAP imposes. the PRC has 30% living below poverty lines. france faces astronomical taxes, mass unemployment, sky-rocketing crime rtes, and all this while our smart ass Sarkozy buys a plane worth tens of billions of dollars for his pleasure. want somemore? the average american competes against asians for the ivy league universities, and 60% of the time, they lose. already, NASA,sillicon valley and all the IVY League universities and cambridge see a 60% population of foriegn talent. an average american suffers more than 20% of his pay to tax and state debts. call singapore the corrupt nation of the world cos of the 'high' taxes? i tell u this, compare what u have with the average american, the average frenchman, the average chinese(mainland), the average malaysian, ull see what i mean. u guys complain of ur 'astronomical' taxes, go see what the WORLD is suffering. as usual, http://taxjustice.blogspot.com/2010/10/singapore-among-worlds-most-corrupt.html is another retarded, one-sided liar of a blog. want to post crap on PAP's dirty linen?
