Lorry crashes, spills chickens onto roads | ||
WHY were more than 100 chickens running around, if not quite crossing, the road? This was the unusual sight that greeted motorists and passers-by at Woodlands Avenue 12. The chickens were given a brief taste of freedom after a lorry taking
them to the slaughterhouse overturned and spilled about 200 cages onto
the road (above). The lorry was turning into Woodlands Avenue 12 from the Seletar Expressway (SLE) when it collided with an oncoming lorry at about 10.25am. The driver, who wanted to be known only as Mr Chen, 50, said he owned the chickens. He estimated a loss of about $10,000 from the accident. A construction worker known only as Mr Liu, 44, stopped to help catch the chickens. He told Lianhe Wanbao: "I was worried the chickens would be knocked down by passing vehicles." He said he saw cars running over some chickens. Other members of the public also helped out. All the remaining chickens were captured, and the cages were loaded onto another lorry. Police said the two lorry drivers were taken to the Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. In another accident three hours earlier, three cars and a bus collided at the junction of Woodlands Avenue 1 and Woodlands Avenue 2. Source:

Hmmm....
Maybe its fate.... 1 or 2 are not meant to die on that day.. and are given freedom to become illegal immigrants of Singapore... sooner or later Woodlands will be filled with chickens running freely like the monkeys of Bukit Panjang and Sembawang liao....
In Sentosa, you have turtles.
In Kranji, you have crocodiles.
In Bukit Panjang, you have monkeys.
In Mandai, you have tigers.
In Ulu Pandan, you have bears.
In Woodlands, you have chickens.

Hmmm....
Okay... We either have flying chicken (hit by car) at that area during that time or fresh minced chicken meat (rolled over by car)...
