There are chiao wan people in Singapore and they are known to be notorious. There are people being cursed by the chiao wan people for no reason. My chiao wan neighbour early morning starts cursing neighbours for no ground, even cursed me that forever I will not get job. WE were merely in friendly chat when she cursed me that. Yucks! Then one day I received news she was sacked from her job, hhahahahahha!

So it is chiao an. I was taught chiao wan. a cantonese friend even asked me about the chiao an, she said that the chian an hokkien is the most nasty hokkien group.
what is "pai tee tow"? Difficult to shave head?
Of all groups don't know why the taiwanese let the chiao an take over, bad choice. No wonder I don';t really like their kind of hokkien. The China xiamen, tongan hokkien sound better.

I remember my mum said that before about "pai tee tow". Main as in official hokkien is from Amoy? Amoy hokkien sounds "si boon". I still can remember that guy from fujian china talking about learning hokkien. His fujian very understandable and pleasant though a little former. After hearing him speak then I appreciate fujian.

Correct me if I am wrong - according to what I know kiao tow means busybody. If its meaning is busybody then I think she is not kiao tow, she is or sim kwa.

Oh my goodness! sorry, my hokkien understanding is bad, may not even be half bucket. think I am better in other dialect. May be I did not learn hokkien from the right source.
