On the whole my paper today was quite manageable except for the question with the highest mark allocation. I wrote as much for a 30 marks qn as another 8 marks qn. Cannot believe myself! Still got another paper coming up this friday morning which I have yet to study. Looks like another 2 more nights of oil burning for me!
Yup I'm not posting much nowadays, partly due to the recent workload and also partly due to the dominance of threads that are almost entirely bogged with friendly 1 line banters constantly between a few forumites. Furthermore the temperature is pretty high recently in the Chit Chat forum as well. Okie I'll pop over to the singles thread and see see around (will probably take some time as the thread is so long)

I was the 95/96 batch. Halfway through my course, i had to really ask myself why i came to NUS?
It's a boring campus with mostly lousy
lecturers... more than half my time there were spent doing my own correspondence course(self-teach) cos the lecturers were and still are incompetent.
Upon graduation, i was so pissed off with NUS idiosyncreacies, the moronic staff there
(i gave them a piece of my mind quite a few times over admin issues), the sarcastic remarks i occasionally passed at the lecturers and some bitches i met, i can't even bother to attend my convocation. In fact so eager was i to get out of this horribly insipid place that i shorten my studies to 2 and a half yrs(accerleration).
I've spent two and a half yrs of my youth there doing the most boring stuff and meeting the most boring people! And end up realising NUS curriculum is so ineffective it doesn't prepare u for a meaningful career
outside(a no-brainers job perhaps). Ironically, the thing i regret most in life... is having gone to NUS.
Any1 beg to differ (u are entitled to yr opinion and i to mine)? -
I agree totally with u, in addition, Sci canteen is also the worst among all canteens in NUS, little variety and low quality too. Thus, always go to the NUH staff canteen to have my meal, such a boring faculty. totally fed up with the NUS server..they require us to register for modules on-line but the server keep giving problems...it was down for 5 days!!!! if they wan us to do everything on-line, at least make sure the system doesnt conk out! so frustrating!

Hmm, after 1/2 year of work, I agree that the NUS curriculum was really not enough to help me deal with anything at work. Too much theory work which are not applicable in work. I have a couple of colleagues who graduated from overseas unis or are currently doing internship in the company which I am working in, and sadly to say, I really feel inadequate as compared to my colleagues. They possess vast knowledge and experience from their overseas studies. And their knowledge is not restricted to their field of studies either. One was a engineering student who completed an MBA in Business, and he really knows his stuff, and he is younger than me! Made me felt really small...not that he boasts of his own knowledge, but rather that I feel self-conscious of my own inadequacy.
As long as the system does not change, I don't see how local grads are going to compete when being placed alongside these overseas grads..sigh -
