STOMPer Keny caught these nurses at NUH playing a Facebook game while they were on duty at about 8pm yesterday (Sep 30).
He said:
"I was visiting my dad at the hospital when I saw these nurses playing a Facebook game on the computer.
"This happened at about 8pm today. A few nurses of ward 57 were sitting at the Nurse Station and using a computer to access a Facebook game called Farmville.
"This is so unprofessional. Instead of attending to the patients, they were playing computer games.
"Moreover, there were still visitors there."

aiyah why waste the high speed internet connect when you have nothing better to do and there is no patient plus also late night of course play game lah. Actually the surrounding area all go high speed internet connection one. YOu just need to convice the password students there to give you a password. :P

Also the terrible working condition, it can be a dirty job.
The understaffing + overly-high workload.
The low pay.
The terrible hours.
The lack of respect from public as well as in their own industry.

All contributes to the undesirability of nursing as a profession in singapore...Although I must say... Wonder how they managed to finish their work on time...

99.99% of all those blue collar workers will use their computer to access to other not related to work wepsite. (Which include u TS)
U narrow minded kids that dont know how to use yr brain cells to think should understand that no can keep on working
every 1 at 1 point need to relax or take a breath or just to close the mindset to take a breather

Aiyoh, as the text says, its already 8pm, which is not the peak time operation hours.
Further, if you observe, its the nurse staff office, not at the service counter or reception also mah.
Then what about those security guards who played SUDOKU while passing time at their station/table? Or those security guards reading WAN PAO or newspaper or playing their handheld games, cannot issit? If like that, those security guards at 2-4am will be so bo liao that they will fall asleep. lol.

i think that having some 'downtime' at work is totally fine. dont have to be so strict on this issue. playing facebook, MSN and even forums are all under this category. i dont understand why the stomper dont understand the situation in a mature manner and just let this slide.

seriously. the nurses should practice. one hand holding mouse. the other hand on keyboard. just two fingers on two keys. "alt" and "tab" ;)

I've seen so many people in service sectors playing while at work..
Doesn't matter much unless they compromise on service standards IMO.
