Hardsell tissue aunties harass customers at Thomson Rd foodcourtSTOMPer Alvin wonders if these hardsell tissue aunties at Thomson Road's Long house foodcourt, are genuinely in need of help, or are simply con artists.They were seen bugging customers at the foodcourt till they buy the tissue they were selling.Says this STOMPer:
"Tissue Paper Beggars at Thomson Road Long House foodcourt.
"They appear suddenly in pairs and disappear as suddenly as they appear.
"They approach patrons to try to sell five packets of tissue paper for $2 and won't leave until they sell the tissue.
"Are they genuinely in need of help or plain con artists?" -
Common to see this happening.
Outside the Waterloo Street temple there is also an auntie doing the same. I am not against them selling tissues but I think it is the way the approach the people that put many people off.

was at queenstown hawker centre having lunch some time back...
then this tissue auntie came with her tissues...
ask me to buy from her coz she needs the money for medication and stuff...
i told her i dun need it then she curse me and my family....
saying we will be ill when we are old and there will be no one to help me...

Same thing happened when i was eating at Beach Road Food Court, This old lady keep pestering me to buy crackers even when i said no. I and my 2 friends ignored her and continue eating our Sup Tulang.

If they are kind and polite, I might give.
Some people are so rough as if u owe them in their past lives. That is certainly a mood spoiler to my good meal on a weekday afternoon.

another case i exp at fairprice. when i finish xfer my stuff from trolley to boot a uncle appeared and grab on my trolley and beg for me to give him my trolley. i was like stunned and took some time to wake up. in the end i gave the trolley to him.
i told myself not to giv in agn if i do see him agn as i think he has his four limbs

But given my nature, I will just give it to him and take the $1 as donation to him lor....
