nice use tissue paper? next time have a better idea ty
What if I buy a packet of cheap tissue paper, those $1.99 bundle with 48 sachets of tissues, and place one pack on each seat?
I could be a phantom "choper" of 48 tables, and people would be going round with trays of food looking for an unchoped seat.
Food courts should impose strict rules, NO RESERVING OF SEATS, NO SEATING WITHOUT FOOD. Six million people ah! there should be bouncers at Food Courts = Buy food first then be seated. Group? Whole group buy, then whole group wait to be seated together.
Reserving seat with tissue papers, articles, etc, is just plain rustic. Third world mentality in a first world setting, that is Singapore for you. It should be stopped, and not become a Singapore culture. It is not in anyway a culture at all.
It works in Singapore because Singaporeans are softies. They can't overcome an obstacle like a pack of tissue paper.
If I accidentally dropped my tissue paper on to a seat at the food court, the seat will be choped until the end of the day when the cleaner removes it. Ridiculous.
next time call the foodcourt and make reservations
next time use comb or car keys
cb lah.
low class.
lj ah, local rule.
ok, if you are working, would you succumb to this "local rule" out of convenience?

I suggest everyone go to a local printing shop and print a "Reserved -by Management" sign and laminate it. Put it on the table before you go off to buy your food.
Seriously.

but then if u are eating alone in a crowded hawker centre, how? considering that this particular hawker centre is the nearest and the 2nd nearest is like 2km away
Lan lan..buy soya bean drink and you tiao ah?

Just get someone to sit down and the other person to buy the food, simple right?
I mean, the bloody packets of tissue doesn't have your name on it, so it could be anyone who "reserved" the damn tables.
Seesh.
Agree! And the person who wait at the table can ask his/her colleagues to buy the food for them mah. A short while also cannot wait meh?
If really need more time to eat, they can talk to their own management about it lor.

Nope. I always station at the table first. Then buy my food after my colleagues came back. Its more ethical in this way.
Tissue papers have no proof of identity. Anyone can just buy it anywhere. Not as if they registered for that tissue papers and it has got a serial number on it.
WTF... Singaporeans.... hope this will not be a culture among us. So disgraceful!

blackberry?
imagine if kena stolen.... all just that u can have a seat?
for those working in raffles place and having only one hr to have their lunch, this "choping" of seats do help. I have no qualms given most people there understand this "culture" and it does save times for all..
the only thing that can stop this is of course, the authorities.but given how they work, normally, it takes something drastic to kickstart them..
So let's wait till one day, when a group fights with another, one flinging chicken rice, while another counters with laska, someone important gets hurt, then perhaps we will see a ruiling...
