A STOMPer, who recently visited the market at Bukit Batok West Avenue 8, wonders why the public toilets for males have been sealed off.
He says that the Ladies' was still open and wonders why no notice was put up to notify the public of any scheduled renovation works in the Gents'.
In an e-mail dated February 18, he says:
"This picture was taken outside the public toilet (for males) at Block 155 Bt Batok West Ave 8.
"Although the toilet for Ladies is still open, the toilet for Gents has been sealed off by a huge piece of plywood. At the entrance you can see blue pails and some market trolleys.
"This block is next to a market, shops and a food centre. There was no warning from the HDB or the town council that the Gents toilet would be closed and even if there was any renovation, the authorities could have provided an alternative like mobile toilets.
"Or was it sealed off by a market stall holder who needed some extra space to store his ‘barang barang'?
"The Jurong Town Council owes the public an explanation."wah lao eh, wth ppl close toilet no big deal what, maybe the toilet is dirty or smelly wad
