PREMIER LEAGUE: Rooney penalty earns Man Utd record 19th League title courtesy of Hernandez dive.
Manchester United needed a second half penalty for the one point needed to give them the Premier League title for a record 19th time with still one game to play.
Struggling Blackburn Rovers had their own reasons for needing the points as they battle against the drop and were handed a goal in the 20th minute courtesy of an error by reserve keeper Tomasz Kuszczak.
The keeper hesitates coming for a cross and Martin Olsson finds Brett Emerton who stuns United by finding the back of the net.
But the crucial goal that takes United past Liverpool’s total of 18 League titles arrived in controversial circumstances.
Rovers keeper Paul Robinson was adjudged to have brought down Javier Hernandez and Wayne Rooney slammed home the spot kick.
The game lost its tempo with both team’s happy with the point for different reasons although with other club’s around Blackburn winning it means the battle to avoid Championship football will go the final game of the season.
At the final whistle the celebrations began at Ewood Park.

please lah, the keeper touch him, he fall, u call dive? the barca guy nobody touch him he fall until machiam leg broken, the ref show pepe red card, then the barca guy runs back onto the pitch... lol... that is called diving... if the keeper never touch Hernandez and then he fall, ok lah that's diving... if you see the replay, there is indeed contact... =)

Well..in any case, even if Man Utd lost against Rovers that time, they would still have won the title anyway.
But so typical of Pool fans to always come up with excuse; referees, FA etc...same year in year out...yeah Man Utd are paying all of them off...haha...what can you do about it?
