sour grapes; even if a local Singaporean won, you will have something to gripe about.

If Singaporean (locally born) won a major international tournament, i will run down Orchard Road to celebrate in my swimming trunks... you can bet on that.... i really kidding.... hehe
i guessed you are referring to "Medicated Oil" right... well... FTs policies are healthy for local sports ?
Let me guess, all of these players were bought over from China?

Champions coming home
SINGAPORE'S champion paddlers, fresh from their 3-1 victory over former champions China, will be returning to Singapore from Moscow today.
The team will be arriving in Singapore on Monday, 9pm via flight EK 404 at Terminal 1.
The Singapore Table Tennis National Women's Team made history by upsetting the defending champion, China in the World Team Championships at Moscow on Sunday evening (Singapore time).
Feng Tianwei anchored the women's team and outclassed world No. 4 Ding Ning in the first singles, and then came back to clinch the winning point 3-2 against world No. 1 Liu Shiwen. Feng was able to build on the success of the 13th ranked Wang Yuegu who earlier outplayed Liu Shiwen in the second singles.

Wah...First time S'pore beated China.
Next time if China imports Singaporeans to compete for them and they beat us to some world title, can China be proud of their achievements?
sssss
as far as i'm concerned, it was China A vs China B and the B Team won, that's all !
those Chinese sportsmen representing other countries are just rejects that were not good enough to represent China and they sold their skills for foreign money, they have not the slightest shred of loyalty !!
those countries that import foreign sportsmen to represent them are also selling out their own countries.

We are borned in Singapore, served NS, our loyalty is to Singapore state. Please don't confuse people by bringing up old history of grandparents.
They were not born in Singapore, their loyalty was not to Singapore state but to China.

Those PAP f***ers as usual. Lee Kuan Yew also betrayed Singapore. PAP really something wrong with patriotism and nationalism.
I think they are useless in developing national pride, maybe due to fact that Lee Kuan Yew betrayed singapore to japanese in WWII and that he is also an anglo.
English speaking anglo want to rule over majority non english speaking population.
Everything end up f****d up.
Total mistake of history to allow someone like anglo, traitor Lee Kuan Yew to rule Singapore.
Ruler of Singapore should be maybe dialect speaking(since 75% Singapore are dialect speakers) and did not betray Singapore to foreigners.
That Lee Kuan Yew.
Congrats! Singapore paddlers: PM Lee
SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has congratulated Singapore's women paddlers for winning the World Team Table Tennis Championships final.
Singapore's trio Feng Tianwei, Wang Yuegu and Sun Bei Bei rocked the sports world in Moscow when they beat reigning champions and world No 1 China 3-1 in the championships to become world champions.
Mr Lee said: "I am delighted that our table tennis players have done us proud. Congratulations to them, and to the coaches and supporting team who made this happen.
"I was at a post-golf game dinner at Orchid Country Club last night (30 May) , organised by the PAP Town Councils. We managed to catch a little bit of the last game on TV before dinner.
"At dinner we tracked the game almost point by point. Lee Bee Wah was there, receiving regular updates by SMS. When we heard that our team had won, she went up on stage to interrupt the proceedings and announce the good news. As you can imagine, the audience cheered, and drank more than one yam seng to our team."
Ms Lee Bee Wah is the president of the Singapore Table Tennis Association.

no sense of pride at all.
Will PRCs in Singapore look down on us for importing their people to win these titles?
This PAP is really useless.

They were not born in Singapore, their loyalty was not to Singapore state but to China.
MNCs are not Singapore companies too and these companies will send back their profits to their home countries. Should Singapore ask MNCs to leave and Singapore will depend on Singapore companies only ?
Is it obvious that Singapore companies cannot compete with the MNCs in providing jobs, income, opportunities, tax revenue and so on ? If Singapore were to depend on Singapore companies only, will Singapore's economy be as robust ?

if they didn't come here to settle, would there be singaporeans loyal to singapore being born?
Crowds greet champions
IT WOULD mean his two young daughters going to sleep much later than usual but there was no way Mr Ray Tan and his family were giving up the chance to greet the newly-minted world champions.
So a day after they watched Feng Tianwei and Co dethrone mighty China for their first World Table Tennis Team Championships crown on television, the 40-year-old teacher drove wife Fee Ling, 40, and daughters Tricia, 10, and Megan, three, to Changi Airport.
It was a 30-minute journey from their home in Balestier and another 45-minute wait before the paddlers emerged at about 9.30pm after arriving on a flight from Moscow.
But Tricia, a Primary 4 pupil at Hong Wen Primary School, had an evening to remember. She had never met Feng - whose crucial victories over China's world No.1 Liu Shiwen and world No.4 Ding Ning had set Singapore up for the famous win - but managed to get a photograph with the 23-year-old.
'She's inspired me to play table tennis now,' said Tricia, amid the din of clapping and cheers.
More than 200 supporters welcomed Feng, Wang Yuegu, Sun Beibei, Yu Mengyu and Li Jiawei back after the team ended the Chinese women's 17-year stranglehold on the Marcel Corbillon Cup.
