Capello wants Scholes for Euro 2012

Capello clearly believes the return of Scholes will boost his cause.

Fabio Capello will make a last-ditch bid this week to lure Paul Scholes out of England retirement. The England coach failed in his attempt to convince the 35-year-old Manchester United midfielder to end his exile before this summer’s World Cup finals.

Scholes admits he regrets rejecting that approach. Now, as Capello prepares for England’s qualifying campaign for the Euro 2012 finals, the coach is ready to knock again on the Manchester United midfielder’s door.

While Capello has deemed David Beckham to be yesterday’s man, he sees Scholes – who is six months older than Becks – as a man for the future.

Scholes has been in impressive form for United, producing man-of-the-match performances against Newcastle last week and in the Community Shield victory over Chelsea at Wembley.

England face crucial back-to-back European Championship qualifiers at home to Bulgaria on September 3 and away to Switzerland four days later.

Indifferent results will almost certainly lead to increasing calls for Capello to stand down from his £6million-a-year position.

As Sunday Mirror Sport revealed last week, the opening three fixtures will determine whether or not the Italian coach remains in the post or parts company with the FA.

Scholes is the reason why Beckham never really got a chance to play in the center for Man U .. now it looks like he may also be the reason why Becks is going to miss up on Euro 2012 as well. LOL.

True, Scholes is the best passer in England even at his present age. But Scholes should not take the offer cos this isn't a tournament, there is a lot of travelling and extra training in between. Forget about England or Capello, he should concentrate on United and get some good and proper rest when an international match comes around...

u think scholes can play 2 matches a week meh? u think fergie will let him play after he played in midweek? no way?

can scholes play in every match of the BPL season, plus CL and fa cup as well. not to mention england qualifiers? by the time december comes, scholes will be tired and exhausted, where got strength to play for england.
