German second division side VfL Bochum have signed North Korea international striker Jong Tae-Se on a two-year contract with an option for another year.
"VfL Bochum 1848 announce the signing of North Korea international Jong Tae-Se," a statement on the club's official website read.
"The 26-year-old has signed a deal that will run until July 2012 with an option for another year."
Tae-Se was very impressive for North Korea in the World Cup and although the Asian side got knocked out in the group stage, his inspirational performance against Brazil stood out.
The striker, nicknamed the 'People's Rooney', said in a club statement, "I've wanted with all my heart to go to Europe. VfL have tried very hard to get me and this has impressed me very much.
"I look forward to my time in Bochum and hope I can help them return to the Bundesliga."
Bochum were relegated from the Bundesliga last season but are already building a competitive squad in order to return to the German first division.
