Roy Hodgson has been appointed the new manager of Liverpool FC.
The 62-year-old former Fulham, Inter Milan and Switzerland manager has agreed terms with the club on a three-year contract and becomes the 18th manager in our history.
He will be unveiled to the world's media this afternoon after overseeing the first day of pre-season training at Melwood.
Hodgson joins us from Fulham, where he guided the Cottagers to the Europa League final in May and was voted Manager of the Year by the League Managers' Association.
He exclusively told Liverpoolfc.tv: "This is the biggest job in club football and I'm honoured to be taking on the role of manager of Britain's most successful football club. I look forward to meeting the players and the supporters and getting down to work at Melwood."
From official Liverpool website.

CLINT DEMPSEY
MR UNPOPULAR to England fans, after hitting the USA's World Cup equaliser.
But a key figure in Fulham's astonishing season - rated at around £7million.
Hodgson is a huge fan of the attacking midfielder's work ethic and professionalism.
DANNY MURPHY
FORMER Liverpool hero, who played 249 games for the Reds - peaking in the 2001 treble.
Still hugely popular among Kop fans for his effort, style and 44 goals.
But the 33-year-old is an outside bet to be new Fulham boss.
GILBERTO SILVA
NOW 33 but proving at World Cup there are still few better holding midfielders on the planet.
Greece's financial crisis could see Panathinaikos cash in on him now.
Seen as ideal replacement should Mascherano leave.
BREDE HANGELAND
THE defensive rock behind last season's success.
The centre-back, 29, only signed a new deal last term.
It would cost up to £10million to bring him to Anfield.
But plugging last term's defensive gaps is a high priority.
* From The Sun though, so to trust anot up to individual.

out of the 4, only hangeland interests me. i wont mind having danny murphy but i hope he accept that he's already no longer what he was and for that he might not get involve as often as he want/expect.

they can perform, but what's the level of performance they're capable of? i believe all of us know the ans luh. let's just hope that roy will know what will come good for his new club. and as a fan, of course i hope his appointment will come good for us.
The ex-Reds midfielder was one of Hodgson's key players at Fulham and skippered the side during their run to Europa League final last season.
Murphy said: "I admire Roy Hodgson. He has a philosophy of playing good football which will fit well at Liverpool.
"He gives players responsibility and a platform to work from.
"Maybe it is time Liverpool had an English manager who knows about the club."
Murphy flourished as Cottagers captain under former Inter Milan and Blackburn manager Hodgson.
And he has nothing but praise for the 62-year-old Londoner.
Murphy added: "Roy is a talented manager who succeeds because he works incredibly hard.
"He instils confidence in his players and has a style the players can enjoy.
"His success has been a mix of a lot of things but primarily hard work.
"He has real tactical knowledge too - in a way it has come from Roy's Italian managerial roots, it is an Italian style."

ben foster did so well at watford while on loan there. what happened to him when he was playing for man united? he flopped and was shipped out to birmingham.
its early days yet, only time will tell. if he doesnt perform and liverpool finishing 7th again, he may not lasts long there.
if rafa can create a club record of finishing 7th when flopped, i believe roy can do even better, at 8th to 10th position maybe.
