Manchester City are planning to rattle Manchester United with a bid for defender Nemanja Vidic.
The Sun says City will launch a shock £20million bid to nab Vidic from bitter rivals Manchester United.
And City will offer the wantaway Serbian a staggering £24m pay deal.
A £115,000-a-week four-year contract is on the table for the centre-half and City will make their bid in the next few days.
Vidic, 28, has been unsettled for some time - but will not make any official announcement about his future until Serbia are out of the World Cup.
Paolo Fabbri, an associate of his agent Silvano Martina, confirmed Vidic could quit Old Trafford.
Fabbri said: "We are waiting for Nemanja to tell us what we he wants to do. Any eventual transfer will take place only after the World Cup."
Landing Vidic would represent a massive coup for City chief Roberto Mancini and a huge blow for Alex Ferguson.

Manchester United are ready to sell defender Nemanja Vidic this summer.
The Guardian says Vidic, who is preparing for Serbia's opening Group D match against Ghana on Sunday, has two years to go on his contract, the point at which United usually open talks about a new deal with players they want to keep.
Wayne Rooney, for instance, has been assured that talks will begin about a £150,000-a-week offer after the World Cup.
Vidic, however, has received no such guarantees, with United reluctantly accepting they may have to choose between getting up to £30m for him now or risk losing him as a free agent in two years.

The Sun says Ferguson will launch a £25million bid for Italy defender Chiellini.
The Juventus centre-back, 25, is the Manchester United chief's top choice to replace Nemanja Vidic, should the Serb quit Old Trafford as expected.
Despite being one of the biggest names in Serie A, Chiellini earns a modest £1.7m a year and has two seasons left on his current contract at Juve.
It is understood that the Old Lady of Turin would accept a bid for him as they look to rebuild their side following a disastrous season - they finished seventh in the Italian top flight.
And Fergie is on red alert, with Manchester City expected to launch a £20m bid for wantaway Vidic in the next few days.
