Inter Milan's Brazilian full-back Maicon has insisted he would like to join Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid rather than moving to moneybags Manchester City.
Reports have linked the defender with a move to City, but it would appear clear he has his heart set on a move to Spain.
'What I want is to play in Madrid and for me it would be an honour to be there and a great opportunity in my career,' he said.. 'With Manchester City I have nothing, I assure you.

'I'll say very clearly to avoid misunderstanding: I want to play in Madrid, I do not want to go to Manchester City,' he reiterated. 'In addition, I repeat that I have nothing with the English club.'
Maicon also said he wanted to fully concentrate on the World Cup, and was not talking with Kaka about the prospect of playing at the Bernabeu.
Delight: Maicon celebrates in Madrid after Inter's European Cup triumph
'I have a great relationship with Kaka, but the truth is that I have said nothing to him about Madrid,' Maicon told Spanish newspaper AS. 'Here we are concerned only with the selection and I'll have time to talk to him about other topics.'
Maicon also hailed Mourinho, calling him 'one of the best coaches with whom I have come across in my life,' and saying it would be 'really nice' to play under him again.
Well, he had tasted success (treble with Inter) under Jose 'The Special One', hence pledge his alliance with his ex-boss...
Tax is also lower in Spain...
Maicon is a world-class player. Dont think he wanna go to Man City.

Inter
defender Douglas
Maicon
has had a change of heart in relation to his Real
Madrid ambition by admitting he wants to remain where he is, just
days after telling Spanish media the contrary.
Maicon claimed his
dream was to team up with Jose Mourinho at the
Bernabeu earlier this week.
"What I
want is to play for Madrid and it would be an honour for me to be there
because I have said it would be a great opportunity in my career," he
told AS two days ago.
But he has now told the
media in South Africa that he prefers to stay at San Siro and will only
leave if the club sanctions his transfer.
"I want to stay in
Italy," he told the press.
"I will only leave if Massimo Moratti
sells me. My intention is to stay with Inter. I would only go away
if the club asked me to."
