Fran Merida, Spain
Former Arsenal midfielder Fran Merida was today presented at Atletico de Madrid's Vicente Calderon as Los Colchoneros' first signing of the 2010-11 season, reports AS.
While the youngster had kind and grateful words for former manager and mentor Arsene Wenger, the midfielder also declared his desire of "exploding" upon what he considers to be "the best league in the world".
After thanking Atletico's club officials for their efforts in making his signing possible, Merida, in his first statements as an Atletico player promised "I will give everything for this shirt: with my ambition and hard work, we will not fail."
Merida was raised in the Barcelona youth system starting at eight years old, but moved to London at 15. He has been an outspoken Atletico fan and has reportedly declared his allegiance to the club since he was six years of age.

This guy has potential but probably not as much since Wenger did not do anything to try and keep him at Emirates.
