Leeds-bound: Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel
Kasper Schmeichel has signed for Leeds United on a free transfer.
The 23-year-old signed a two year deal and even got the thumbs up on the move from his father former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter.
The young Dane, who had attracted attention from Bayern Munich and Chelsea, joins after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with Notts County.
He said: 'Leeds is one of the biggest clubs in the country. As soon as Leeds came in dad asked what I wanted to do and he said he couldn't agree more. He said it was the best club to be at now.'
Meanwhile, Everton expect to seal the signing of Leeds’ free agent striker Jermaine Beckford today.
His dad was not really well-liked at United because he joined City at the later part of his career.
And now Kasper has joined another fiercest rival of United after playing for City - Leeds.
He must have hated United.
I hope to see him back into the EPL in the next few years.
