Rafa Benitez's Liverpool reign could be nearing an end, following claims in Italy that he will hold talks with one of Inter Milan’s top bosses in Madrid on Wednesday.

Sportsmail revealed last week that Benitez was Inter’s preferred choice to succeed Jose Mourinho, who will join Real Madrid after Saturday’s Champions League final against Bayern Munich at the Bernabeu.
Their interest was driven by Branca’s admiration for Benitez’s coaching skills, but was in danger of cooling when it emerged that president Massimo Moratti was consulting Mourinho over who should take over.

Mourinho advised that they pursue Louis van Gaal of Bayern or Guus Hiddink, soon to be Turkey coach, but both may be reluctant to leave their current commitments.
Benitez also figures in AC Milan’s thoughts, as they seek a manager after sacking Leonardo.
