Blanc has left FCGB and will take the reins of the national team after South Africa...
DPPI - JEAN PIERRE ESCALETTES (PRESIDENT FFF) / LAURENT BLANC (COACH BORDEAUX)
Laurent Blanc has parted company with Bordeaux and will be confirmed as French international coach within the next 24 hours, according to reports emanating from France.
The 1998 World Cup winner will take over from present incumbent Raymond Domenech after this summer’s tournament in South Africa, and both parties are currently in the process of agreeing terms.
France Football Federation (FFF) president, Jean-Pierre Escalettes, commented today that Blanc has stated his desire to succeed Domenech in charge of Les Bleus.
In a statement, Escalettes said, “I take note of the decision announced this morning by Laurent Blanc, following the final day of the Ligue 1 season, that he has officially declared his interest for the position of national coach.
“The declaration of interest makes me happy. His sporting past, his personality, and charisma means Laurent Blanc fits the profile that the FFF desire and fits the ambitions of Team France.”
It is expected that in the coming hours, the FFF will contact the relevant parties to discuss the terms of Blanc’s contract, and an official announcement will be forthcoming.
Blanc parted company from Bordeaux after failing to match the heights of their Ligue 1 title victory in 2009, and FCGB ended this campaign in a disappointing sixth place.
However, the FFF have acted quickly to ensure their acquisition of the highly-rated tactician, with the likes of Sevilla and Juventus previously linked with moves for the 44-year old.

Hope Raymond Domenech is good enough to replace Gianfranco Zola.
