  Ferguson will not leave Man Utd in poor shape

  Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is determined to only leave his job with the club in a strong position.

  One thing Ferguson has clarified is that he would not emulate Ron Atkinson's example in 1986 when he inherited a team struggling on the pitch and without silverware.

  Ferguson insists he would only relinquish his post when The Red Devils are in a 'good, healthy' position.

  "If we hit a bad spell, it would not be the right time to go," explained Ferguson.

  "I would not want to put the new manager into a situation where he was taking over a bad team. I want to leave United in a good, healthy position."

  Fergie almost left. The 2001–02 season was to have been Ferguson's last as Manchester United manager, and the looming date of his retirement was cited as a reason for the team's loss of form. Ferguson himself admitted that the decision to pre-announce his retirement had resulted in a negative effect on the players and on his ability to impose discipline.   every united fan should fear when this day come.Whenever a big player leaves OT,we nv fear cos no player is bigger than this club,but fergie is jus manutd...the legacy he creates is too big to be replaced.

  Obviously Man Utd will get a capable (proven) replacement once Sir Alex Ferguson decided to call it a day..

  Jose Mourinho contract with Inter expires next summer.. (if this is the case), Fergie will be likely stays until 2010/11 is over....

  Jose always express his interest for BPL and not many clubs can afford his service.

  Jose Mourinho definitely a HOT PROPERTY now....

  His achievement this season at Inter Milan is Excellent.... potential Treble ( hatrick of titles )

  Are you kidding ?  Ole, though a legend of ManUtd and a coach of reserve team Manager (since 2006) didn't the experiences to lead ManUtd in UCL games...

  That's too high a risk...

  If they are looking for a "Legend" replacement, Roy Keane (with BPL 1st team coaching experiences) should be in the picture...

  Carlos Queiroz spend 5 good years as Fergie's no 2.  Spend a brief spell at Real Madrid Boss (10 mths) in 2003/04... before coming back on 2nd term as Fergie's assistant.. He left Utd in 2008 to coach Portugal...

  Unless he does something great in the WC, if not, there is nothing in his resume to show...

  anyway, with regards to how Fergie leaves Utd, then why did AF not leave in 2008 when they just completed their treble? okay he wants to kick the fools of their f*cking perch, in 2009 it is all square. So he wants to win the title 1 more time?

  if he is healthy, he can manage till he is 70 or even early 70s, a good 4-5 years. I am sure he can surpass liverpool 18 titles and maybe add another CL to his trophy collections.
