The Liverpool chief's future is uncertain, despite two rounds of talks with chairman Martin Broughton.
Kop legend Fowler said: "It's a big club and no one is bigger than the club.
"I want Liverpool to do well and whether Rafa's there or someone else, I don't mind. We need to win trophies."
Fowler, now at Aussie outfit Perth Glory, added: "I was always grateful to Rafa for bringing me back, so I've a soft spot for him."
