Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger wants Sunderland's Craig Gordon to solve his problem position of goalkeeper, according to Sunday paper reports.
The Gunners chief has insisted in recent weeks that he wasn't looking for a new No.1, but the alarming form of Lucasz Fabianski has forced him into a re-think.
Fabianski has a made a number of high-prolife errors in recent weeks as stand-in for Manuel Almunia, another man who has had a less than convincing season, and many pundits have insisted that Wenger must buy a new keeper if the north Londoners are to challenge for the big prizes.
And now it seems as though the Frenchman has come around to that way of thinking as he plots a raid for the Wearsiders' Scottish international.
Sunderland would want to recoup the £9million they paid to Hearts to land Gordon in 2007 but, with money to spend, that fee would not be a problem for the Gunners.
If Wenger fails in a move for Gordon, he will turn his attention to Blackburn's former Tottenham stopper, Paul Robinson.
it about time!!
go buy buffon lar.
since juventus cant play UCL next season
buffon maybe jump ship
i would prefer Joe Hart
this guy is the top keeper in championship manager?
i personally like mark schwarzer of fulham.
.good in the air and reliable figure.should not be expensive
I doubt Wenger will spend big, a realistic target would be Gordon but Bruce will be unwilling to sell unless there's a player + Cash offer.
And Wenger won't sign Paul Robinson. He passed the chance to sign him from Leeds when Robinson even went for a trial with the gunners.
if i am wenger, i will send fabianski out for loan, i believe he is 24 now? maybe 26 then come back.. then for now get schwarzer.
joehart just sign new birm deal.
joe hart is man city man. he sign for brum??
