Tasty: Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has been linked with a summer move to Chelsea and Manchester City
Chelsea stand on the verge of winning the Premier League at Stamford Bridge with their Italian manager, Carlo Ancelotti, insisting he does not need to add £70m-rated Fernando Torres to his squad for next season.
Despite the disappointment of failing to capture the Champions League, Ancelotti will secure only the fourth title win in the club's history if Chelsea beat Wigan or Manchester United fail to beat Stoke at Old Trafford.
While Ancelotti concedes he wants to strengthen his squad, he is confident striker Nicolas Anelka will sign a new contract and will tell owner Roman Abramovich they do not need Liverpool's Torres.
'Torres is a fantastic player but I don't think we would move for him because we have Didier Drogba, and Anelka,' said Ancelotti.
Man..who wouldn't want this goal-machine in their team.
not for 70mil.. the days of blowing excessive funds needs to go..
Rather get Augero for 30m-40m.
And they just reportedly agreed a fee of around 40mil pounds for Sergio Aguero...
Torres is Kinda injury-prone.
u can play torres with care. dun play him for 2 consecutive matches in a week. if he play a full match in midweek, then he will be on the bench on sat and vice versa.
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has admitted he would like to bring Liverpool ace Fernando Torres to Stamford Bridge.
Torres' future at Anfield has been the subject of conjecture in recent weeks following Liverpool's failure to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League and their much-publicised financial problems.
Chelsea star Didier Drogba fuelled rumours of a move for Torres by revealing earlier this week the Spaniard would be his ideal strike partner.
Ancelotti has now refused to rule out a move for Torres, with Manchester City also thought to be weighing up a mega bid for the player.
"It's not only Drogba - I would like to play with Torres. He's a very good player," said Ancelotti.
"But this is not an issue for now. He is a Liverpool player and is a good striker but we have two fantastic strikers and this is not for this moment."

70 million Pound ?? overpriced !! they (Managers) need to know that their dayz are DOOM as EU countries are heading for a big big recession.... Anyway, why sell a player if the REDs want to be in the competition by winning their LONG LOST EPL title by selling their MOST PRICED ASSET to a Title Rival ? (Prefer to export out to Spain rather than sell to Title Rivals)......
