Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has been named as the Barclays Premier League Manager of the Season, wrapping up a memorable week.
Former Portsmouth boss Redknapp won the award after leading Spurs to a top-four place, and a subsequent place in next season's Champions League, a result clinched with a 1-0 win over fourth spot rivals Manchester City on Wednesday.
The top managerial accolade in the Premier League was voted by the Barclays Awards Panel, which is made up of football’s governing bodies, the media and fans.
Redknapp is only the second manager since the formation of the Premier League in 1992-93 to win the award without winning the championship. George Burley was first to break the mould after Ipswich Town finished fifth in 2000-01.
"I'm delighted to receive the award but it's a team effort with Kevin [Bond], Joe [Jordan], Clive [Allen], Tony [Parks], Tim [Sherwood], Les [Ferdinand] and all the coaching and fitness staff,” Redknapp told his club's official website.
"Really, I'm just part of the team.
"It's all down to the players and what they've achieved. It's down to them really and a real honour to receive it."

I understand you but this award is about performance on the EPL, not as an overall or other tour.
I think it's fair to say that Harry is the best manager of the 2009-2010 season..
didnt realised that Tim Sherwood and Les is with him as coaching staff, with a couple of proven former players no wonder their midfield seems alot more consistent, now is left to be seen if they can repeat this season for next season
he deserves it.
congrats.
Thoroughly deserved. Tottenham have good players, but didn't have big name stars like the other teams have, and yet they managed to beat Liverpool and Man City to a 4th place finish.
Congratulations to the manager, and good luck to Spurs in the UCL next season!
Well-deserved
its good they are in the CL.
otherwise the bigger teams will cannibalised their better players and they'll be back to square one.
