Newspaper reports Sg pools coming in to support the telcos to the tune of $2 million.
Contribute some advertising revenue to help out the telcos who must be sweating over the loss of WC subscribers.
let the betting start.........isn't this a better Casino....
So far, I haven't heard of people saying they will sign up for the package (even if unwillingly).
Most of them are really adamant that they boycott the telcos by not subscribing.
But I wonder just how long they will last before giving in.

actually we share see.....but i think at the end of the day sport bar will be the winner....!!! Hurrray!!!
bs lor...$1 per match, do people even watch all the matches?
66 bucks to watch world cup?
even 10 dollars consider sia.

It's seriously very poor PR to mention that one match costs the same as a cup of kopi.
It makes them sound very uncaring and apathetic towards their own customers, and it makes it sound as though the customers are the ones who are being unreasonable.
They could have gotten much better PR by being more apologetic. Something as simple as 'Sorry, man, we messed up, and now we can't get advertisers to help us cover costs' would have sounded far more palatable than such a callous remark about kopi.
Even equating the prices to kopi does not compute. I can buy kopitiam kopi for less than $1. So that logic of theirs is also phail.

go read today's papers.. i think it was in the local rag, the New Paper...
they went to do a detailed analysis of the cost and man, it's way way WAY more than just $66 + GST
I think they will end up eating their words when the majority decides to go to the kopitiam and have a cup of kopi and watch the world cup there..
2014, the price will be 150 bucks and they will say its cheaper then a plate of chicken rice..
but they still got corporate customers to earn money, like kopi diam, pubs, clubs, ktvs, mcdonalds etc.
but now that both singtel is on board, customers have to choose if they want to sub to singtel or starhub. previously starhub was the sole monopoly, but now with singtel on board, it is ironic how the fee subscription goes up instead of going down when competition is supposed to drive down the prices. it is to do with singtel overpaying for the BPL rights as a newcomer so as to snatch as much customers away from starhub.

Bookie will follow all matches but individual interest will pick n choose
live stream is my pick :)
hahaha....so it's a PR fiasco now. Almost a hundred bucks instead of $66. Why can't these people be honest? At the end of the day, citizens are not stupid, dont they realise.

but there are enough stupid people out there to keep them in business
I bet they will remain in business and a tidy profit too. Just like the 66.6% in 2006 elections. They know what's coming and still vote them in. Great.
They knew a lot of suckers here worship soccer so much, they ain't afraid to raise the price. Slowly but surely, i think people will suck it up & end up paying. Unless a few of you guys pool the money together & decide to watch together in some friend's house etc.
come the last min, pple will still rush to sign up. live streaming is actually a poor form of substitute for football on big screen TVs.

Those 66.6% are stubborn people. So stubborn that they doesn't care abt the future of their children, so stubborn that they rather pay everything at higher price when they are earning a miserably income.
If you look at the perspective of audienceship to attract advertising revenue....this is totally a wrong approach.
As much as it is only 4.5 mil populations......there is still alot of advertising revenue to be made for the entire 1 month.....particularly lead to Semi, Quarter, and Final games.
eh wait, i need to ask something.. who are those people that actually end up paying 120+ to watch world cup..i thought its advertised at 70 only?
U mean those new customers eh? installation fee leh? not to mention connection fee also lol.
Latest news coming out to encourage fans to subscribe is... Rumour has it that coffee will be priced at $1.20 at coffee shops... Man, this whole thing is so sick...
