Juventus have given Rafa benitez until the end of the season to decide on the manager's job, according to the Daily Mirror.
They claim the new president of FIAT and heir to the Agnelli fortune - which includes Juventus - has personally intervened to give Benitez more time to decide.
John Elkann apparently believes the deal is so close that he has instructed Carlo Sant'Albano, his director on the Juventus board, to extend the original deadline.
According to the Daily Mirror: 'The Italian club have offered the Spaniard a four-year deal and £175m to invest in the transfer market with the promised signings of Javier Mascherano and Edin Dzeko.'
But there are two obstacles to a deal - Benitez's reluctance to leave Liverpool without a pay-off, and the lack of Champions League football at Juventus.
