SunSport revealed yesterday the Manchester United boss is ready to step down after one more season.
Ferguson, 68, is convinced that Everton boss Moyes can provide the continuity United crave to keep them challenging for the top honours.
Jose Mourinho is the bookies' favourite and enjoys a close relationship with Ferguson from his time as a rival boss with Chelsea.
But the United hierarchy, including the influential Sir Bobby Charlton, are not convinced.
Ferguson knows fellow Glaswegian Moyes, 46, well and has constantly championed his achievements at Preston and now Everton.
He also believes it is right to give a good British manager the chance to take one of the big jobs in football.
considering how everton performed under him with limited funds i believe moyes is a good choice.
I think there is some good reason for it... Moyes is also a devotee to playing attractive attacking football, a believer of the youth system and the ability to keep his club among the big boys even though he has very little funds to manage over the years...
But he is still very inexperience at the very top level, so... it is a risky choice but could be a good long term one though...

plus he is able to mold his team together as a unit... tat's commendable. but european experience may count against him,
I like the way Everton plays where every one on the pitch sings the same tune. Moyes focus alot on teamwork and that is where Everton thrives.
But one thing to take note is Rooney didn't have a good relationship with Moyes after Moyes refusal to let him go to United initially. Moyes' appointment might be the catalyst to drive Rooney out of United.
As much as i hate to admit, I'd love to see Mourinho taking over Fergie. He has proven time and again that he's the tactical mastermind, the genius at winning games. He might be able to push United up another level.

i thk rooney has already apologise and the feud is over. same here... my choice would still be the special one.
look at it this way.. Moyes wanted Rooney to stay at Everton because Moyes knew how good Rooney can be...
if Moyes takes over MUFC, he's Rooney's going to be MUFC's for the rest of his career coz he's going to fight tooth and nail again to keep Rooney...
Mourinho may be good, but let's face it... He doesn't play good attractive football. And there is no guarantee he will be a success either, he is kind of strugglling right now to keep the Serie A for Inter despite having no serious challenger to begin with...
Mourinho would probably be a short term manager, he doesn't stay with a club for very long cos of his behaviour. And he is also a magnet for unwanted problems and controversies.
The man is great to the details but so far I kind of find most of his purchases to be flops. And he don't have a good eye for young talent as well.
For me, either one is good but Moyes may prove to be a better man in the longer term...

Everton seems to have a good supply of youngsters..
is it the location or their scouting system? Like Rooney, and now Rodwell?
Don't know leh... I think it' both.
Rooney and Rodwell are Merseyside born but Dan Gosling isn't...
I think he have quite a good eye for unknown players and turn them into quality ones. Some examples like... Fellaini, Pienaar, Arteta, Phil Jagielka or Cahill etc..

true, but the question is he able to propel into more glory like SAF? with seemingly more resources, manpower and infrastructure??
mourinho doesnt seem the type to stay at a club for a long period of time.
he is just too vocal and attracts too much negative publicity.
but he is definitely a good manager to have.
If MUFC win one more title I bet Fergie is staying on for another god knows how long.
David Moyes seems like one of the better British managers of the new school, along with Mark Hughes.
i think man utd should get gay rafael benitez,he is a manager who make a crap team like liverpool into rubbish, shits, cow dung, etc
how can ?
must get Bryan Robson or Paul Ince or Roy Keane or Steve Bruce mah.............
Man Utd must be destroyed under one of their former players................
fergie every season say he will retire soon and he's only 68. I bet he will continue till he's mid 70s. Forget about moyes, fergie is still in charge until he wins the next UCL.
Fergie scared Moyes go to a big club like Man City and topple Man Utd so he keep bullshitting he's retiring and Moyes replacing him................this kind of bullshit has been going on for years liao................the old bastard won't quit till he drop dead one............
Bryan Robson will lead Man U to Coca-Cola League................then get fired.
Roy Keane will lead Man U to League 1.........then get fired.
Paul Ince lead Man U to League 2...........gets fired.
Steve Bruce will lead Man U out of the League and into the Conference..................and be knighted.
frankly, if you want to discuss, do it responsiblity.
if U want to post childish threads, go and create your own forum la.
all these are asumtion, how would yuou be able to back them up?
david moyes is a really good choice, look how everton is playing under him.

paul ince cannot...he played for bastard liverpool b4.maybe ask ur fucking mother whore u fucking son of a whore
Avram Grant
relax people.................no quotes from Sir Alex himself...just the usual news with nothing to report making up stories to sensationalise.
Why no mourinho ? Its a pity he at inter.....
You would want Mourinho if you want him to come him and shake up a non performing team. He has the tendency to go to teams with a big budget. But for Man U, alot of the foundation has been set by Fergie and what the team needs is a person who shares the same ideal in managing a team with commerical sense to sustain the team both on the playing field and financially. Moyes can do that.
