JOSE MOURINHO celebrated Inter Milan's victory over Barcelona and claimed: "I have a friend in the volcano."
Reigning European champions Barca were forced on a 14-hour coach journey to Milan for last night's clash because the flight problems caused by volcanic eruptions in Iceland.
And despite having the majority of possession, Pep Guardiola's men looked sluggish against their Italian opponents.
Pedro gave Barca the lead before Wesley Sneijder, Maicon and Diego Milito sealed the 3-1 semi-final first-leg victory.
Barca boss Guardiola was unhappy that Inter refused to water the pitch and midfielder Xavi also claimed the Portuguese ref helped Mourinho.
The Special One said: "The way they are, tomorrow we will probably read I am to blame for the volcano.
"Maybe I have a friend in the volcano and I am responsible for that."
Mourinho did sound a note of caution to his Inter side, heading into next Wednesday's second leg.
He added: "We are not playing a small team, we are playing Barcelona who are a great team with a great coach and great fans.
"We go to Barcelona and we are ahead, and we want to go into the final, but we are not there yet."
