Maradona or Messi who is better?

Maradona without a doubt. Maradona got other skills like his precised crossing and passing, and his freekick. Maradona was the focal point of all attacks with argentina and Napoli and he is the leader for both teams. Maradona's argentina then were just an ordinary side with the exception of maradona being world class. he single handedly carried the side and won the world cup in 1986 all by his own.
Yes Messi is doing it for barcelona now, but he has not produced the goods for argentina yet. if he can carry argentina all on his own in June and go all the way and win it, then Messi can be considered as the equal to Maradona.

definitely maradona if you had seen him play. he did well for both club and country.
messi was a disappointment so far with argentina.

of cos Maradona, he is the best after Pele and he did so very a long period of time too, Messi no matter how good would still be a tab below him

Messi need to beat Inter to prove he is equally good against Italian style of defence then go WC and win it to equal or surpass him.

It is maradonna, he is the best. My dad had a collection of all his goals with Napoli and Argentina.
Messi is good, he is good with Barcelona, which is already a big club with good players all round, unlike Maradonna, who single handle change a schoolboy Napoli into Italian Chamopion, and yet played very well for his Country, that is the different.
Good players and coaches are those who can change a small town Football club unfamilar to the world into a champion. If you look at EPL, Roy Hogdson is doiing a fantastic job there, that is a good coach, a coach that dun talk much and yet produce result.
Unless Messi can change a club like Fulham into a champion, i would say is will be somewhere at maradonna stage. But for me, even Pele cannot match Maradonna.

Maradona not striker like Pele but Maradona is better lah........Pele's time ah, the defenders not so tough plus the tactics were much simpler back then..........
Messi may be technically as good or better than Maradona but no one can give the team confidence like he can.............while giving opposing teams the ''fear of God''.....................with or without his ''hand of God''............
if Messi were to play for Napoli back when Maradona did.............i doubt Napoli would have been so successful............

Napoli got a few good players like Careca, di Napoli, Crippa, Carnavale, Alemao but they were no where near as awesome as Barca ....................
and back in 1986, Argentina wasn't strong at all...............and they were pure crap in 1990..............
ironic that now Argentina got all the superstars and Maradona is destroying them............LOL

well everyone is entitle to his or her opinion but when we compare players of different era we can only do so by comparing them against their respective players, you cant compare players of different era and say they are not as strong as players these days, everything is different back then and now, even ball they used those days weights a tonne if compare to today's ball, the turf, the equipments and so on, there is simply no way to compare.
and BTW, Maradona cant do anything much during the 1862 WC too
