  I think their fate was sealed when the 9-points deduction kicks in. The players lost focus, lost their faith in the management.

  I doubt Portsmouth would make it back to the top division in the next couple of years unless the financial issue resolves. They could very well end up like Leeds, going down another division.

  They can still win the F.A cup... imagine if they win the F.A cup this season!!

  Coincidently, it was their venture into Europe due to their 2008 FA Cup win thats being blamed for their downfall now.

  They may not win FACup, but still could get into Europe as Chelsea are already sure of a Eurpoean spot.

  The problem is that Pompey did not manage to apply for a UEFA club licence in time for the deadline.... I guess they figured that they didn't have a ghost of a chance of making it to the FA Cup Final.

  But now that they have, they're trying to get the FA to give them a chance...... obviously, playing in the Europa League would help get some much-needed revenue for them.

  It sure would be interesting seeing a Championship club playing in Europe next season.

  We had Millwall playing in Europe a few years back. Having Pompey represent the FA Cup winners is no big deal.
