even forests won it twice in 1979 and 1980 season and villa won it in 1982. chelsea almost won it but for JT missed penalty kick. Arsenal lost to Barcelona in the CL finals in 2006 season. how long more will chelsea and arsenal take to win the CL? next season?

chelsea were recent winners of the league title. they werent one of the top teams in the past.
its more amazing everton and arsenal had never won the european cup. both these teams have won the league title many times.

i cant help but agree with "thongs" that you are trying to make fun of others with this post of yours, just like when "Poolman" said we have to be content seeing Liverpool and Fulham on TV you say laughing at the Euro league, i mean as much as i dislike "Poolman"'s post at times but i still dun see why you would call it pauper's cousin of CL, as much as it is true to a certain extend but it still holds its own as far as European football is concern, but i guess you might not be laughing if ManU just win the league cup this season which might be a possibility for them (well i do hope ManU win the league this season thou) and i cant help but think you seems to post and conpose post like the guy Marc or something along this line

i hope these 2 teams never win the UCL. Arsenal plays great football but they are not a british team. Many times you can hardly find a brit in their first 11. Chelsea suddenly had a lot of money and they became serious contenders; an opportunity that even Hull could do with.
Imagine barca fielding a team where there are no spanish. It's a disgrace to the club's pedigree.

I do hope this is not a knee-jerk reaction to MU exiting the UCL.
Arsenal/Chelsea are good enough to win the UCL, given a bit of football luck. I do believe if the teams can arrive at the latter stages, free of injuries/suspensions, the english teams can given any team a run for their money.

That is because you only started watching football recently. Or if you claimed to have watched football a rather long time ago, apparently you only watch the English League. There are alot of other "less famous" clubs that have won the European/Champions League before. Unfortunately Arsenal and Chelsea have not. ; |
