  Chelsea veteran goalkeeper Hilario set for summer switch to Sporting Lisbon

  Sporting Lisbon are interested in signing Chelsea third-choice goalkeeper Hilario.

  The 34-year-old has struggled to make any impression as understudy to Petr Cech and has made barely 20 appearances since joining the Blues on a free-transfer in 2006.

  Lisbon are looking to add another goalkeeper to their squad to challenge current no 1 Rui Patricio and the Chelsea stopper has been targeted to do so.

  Hilario was heavily criticised for his part in Chelsea's 4-2 defeat at home to Manchester City in the Premier League last month.

  Manager Carlo Ancelotti has deemed the Portuguese shot-stopper surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, with a move back to his homeland highly inevitable.

  i have asked many times and i am asking again.

  why did they sell cudicini? 

  they should have alternated both cech and cudicini instead of benching him throughout the season.

  before cech came cudicini was doing a great job at chelsea.

  now they are paying the price of not having any good backup for cech.

  and cech is fast losing his status as one of the best goalies.  he seems so unsure of himself lately.

  well cudicini wanted first team.... somemore he stayed with the club so long. chelsea let him go as a form of appreciation.

  the sad thing is that he went Spurs to sit bench as well. :/

  3rd choice goalies are the best...............no need to play also get fat salary..............this kind of job go where to find ?

  you're being paid to keep yourself fit......................even when you concede goals also never mind, you can always say you got no match experience or you're rusty mah..............
