Liverpool have been linked with a shock move for Real Madrid icon Raul. The 32-year-old is no longer a regular at the Bernabeu, starting just nine of 29 La Liga games since Manuel Pellegrini became boss in the summer.
And the Madrid captain, who has played more than 700 games for the Spanish giants, could be set for a summer exit.
Raul has previously suggested he would be tempted by a shot a Barclays Premier League football before the end of his career and Liverpool are said to be offering a two-year contract.
There has also been long-standing interest from the United States, where Raul could net a luctative swansong, but the Anfield option would be tempting if he feels his time at Madrid has come to a natural end.

However, it should be noted that Liverpool's interest emanates from the Catalan press rather than the Spanish capital, and Raul has not spoken out against his treatment by Pellegrini.
Rafa Benitez would be looking for a free transfer for Raul, though Madrid have him on 'lifetime contract' and it is suggested they would be more amenable to him leaving for the MLS.

Premier League side Liverpool are willing to sign Spain legend Raul from Real Madrid at the end of the 2009-10 season, according to latest reports.
The Mirror speculates that Reds manager Rafael Benitez will attempt to convince the three-time Champions League winner to leave the Spanish capital and move to Merseyside, where he would partner Spain international striker Fernando Torres in attack. The Daily Mail adds that Liverpool will offer Raul a two-year contract.
Raul is thought to have expressed a desire to play in the English top flight, and with him falling in the pecking order under coach Manuel Pellegrini this season, there has been speculation that he could leave Madrid in the summer.
The 32-year-old has also been linked with a move to the MLS. Raul has started just eight times in the Spanish Primera Division so far this season and has scored four times. He featured in seven Champions League games and was on the scoresheet twice. -
