LIVERPOOL VS SUNDERLAND
Liverpool will be pinning their hopes on striker Fernando Torres to shoot them to success against Sunderland in their Premier League clash at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds must keep within touching distance of Tottenham Hotspur if they are to keep their top-four challenge going after falling to a loss against fierce rivals Manchester United last weekend.
It was Torres who opened the scoring with a fine header at Old Trafford, but goals from Wayne Rooney and Park Ji-Sung turned the tables as the leaders cashed in on a 2-1 victory.
Rafael Benitez's side are now four points adrift of Spurs and Harry Redknapp's men have a crucial game in hand over the under-performing Merseysiders.
After going 14 games without a league victory, Sunderland have turned the tables with two wins and two draws in March.
A thumping 4-0 success over Bolton Wanderers was followed by a 1-1 draw to Manchester City.
Then a fine 3-1 triumph over Birmingham City and Wednesday's 1-1 stalemate at Aston Villa has helped push Steve Bruce's Black Cats up to 13th in the Premier League table.
Liverpool have won just twice in six fixtures and their form has continued to dog them all season.

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce expects abuse from Liverpool fans tomorrow.
The former Manchester United captain enjoys a good record against the Reds.
He smiled as he said: "I get abused from pillar to post. I don't know what they will call me this year, but they will have something in their locker.
"But I have always done okay at Anfield, touch wood."
I do not think the management of Liverpool will sack Rafa even if they fail to qualify for Champs League. It seems that they might have accepted that fate and might even have finally see the need to invest if they do not want a repeat of this year... well we will see what unfolds in the final months of the season....

I all along feel that Pool have good enough players to win the title like last season... Their only main problem is no one is motivating them consistently week in, week out... Therefore they only manage to raise their game against bigger clubs and not consistent against the smaller ones... I think Rafa isn't doing enough or he doesn't know how to...
For this match, it seems like Pool could win by 5 goals by the end of it... All the players looked to be motivated... Apart from the beach ball incident, there are a number of old heads sitting on the stands watching them... That should be motivating enough for the players... I see Gerrard running and trying harder today...
Anyway, Pool's 2nd last match of the season and their last match at Anfield for this season is Chelsea... How sweet... I doubt Chelsea can get away with 3 points if Pool need it to get 4th place...

Pent up frustration over the beach ball incident and you saw all those Pool legends in the stand? It helps... Players will try extra harder knowing there are important people watching them... I won't give credit to Rafa for their today's performance...

Liverpool all along have the potential but they just cant play consistent good football week in week out. We have seen many a times liverpool falter against average teams while rising up to the occasion when we least expect them to win.
