In demand: Fabio Capello
Juventus hope to tempt Fabio Capello to quit his £6million a year England job and return to the Serie A giants.
The Turin side have made the 63-year-old their first choice to take over when caretaker boss Alberto Zaccheroni hands over the reins at the end of the summer.
Capello, a former Juve player and manager, would be a popular choice to turn around the ailing Old Lady, though it would take a huge effort to make him turn his back on England.
The Italian's lucrative contract runs through to Euro 2012 and he has repeatedly rejected claims that he is looking to quit his current job after this summer's World Cup.
Setback: Juve's Felipe Melo (centre) looks dejected as Palermo defeat them at home
A deeply disappointing campaign in South Africa could change the landscape, but Juventus have lined up alternatives in case the ambitious bid fails.
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez (right), a friend of Juve vice general manager Roberto Bettega, is a strong contender for the job, as is Fiorentina manager Cesare Prandelli, a former Juve midfielder.
Zaccheroni's hopes of landing the job permanently are slim and took a further blow at the weekend thanks to a 2-0 home defeat by Palermo that saw Juve drop out of the top four.
Capallo is a good manager no matter where he goes, but in my humble opinion managing England is probably as big as any job out there if not bigger.. aEngland is all along just a talk.. nothing bigger then any teams out in the world but having a media bigger and faster to put boast into just about anyone who is slightly with some kinda potential does makes you feels that that very one is indeed great..
Juve want this ungrateful, disloyal mercenary back ?
haven't they learn ? Capello is a bad choice for a team in crisis.............he can only win with big teams that are doing well.................
Juve can try for Mark Hughes. He's jobless at the moment.
