John Terry was snubbed by Wayne Bridge and humiliated by Craig Bellamy as Manchester City blew the title race wide open with a stunning 4-2 victory at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea.
Terry, stripped of the England captaincy after revelations about his relationship with Bridge's former partner, had to suffer the indignity of his former friend and team-mate refusing to shake his hand before kick-off.

Then Bellamy, who shared City's goals with the returning Carlos Tevez, put the boot into Terry's shattered reputation just as ruthlessly as his team had exposed nine-man Chelsea on the counter-attack.
'I know what JT's like,' said Bellamy. 'Nothing surprises me about him. Everyone in football knows what the guy's ike. But that's off the field. On the field, he's an outstanding player and a great captain for Chelsea, and it's always going to be difficult when you play him and his team.'
Rivals: Wayne Bridge goes head to head with John Terry for the first time since revelations about Terry's relationship with Bridge's former partner
But it was a terrible end to another traumatic week for Terry and Chelsea, on and off the pitch, with the apparent collapse of injured defender Ashley Cole's marriage only adding to the air of sleaze. Bridge - who has said he does not want to be picked for England following the stories about Terry and Vanessa Perroncel, the mother of his three-year-old son - went to shake Terry's hand in the traditional line-up before the match only to then pull it away.
Frank Lampard gave Chelsea a deserved lead but Terry, having been at fault for the first of Inter Milan's goals in Wednesday's 2-1 Champions League defeat in Italy, was caught out by the pace of Tevez in first-half stoppage-time.
Heated: Chelsea's John Terry clashes with Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez
The City striker, back after two weeks in Argentina at the bedside of his newborn daughter, scored after a mistake by stand-in goalkeeper Henrique Hilario, who was also at fault for Bellamy's first goal.

The gameplan of Ancelotti was floped for second half...
Hilario can be good friends with Almunia.
Playing Malouda as a LB? Only leads to poor tackles and conceding of dangerous FKs at the left hand side of Chelsea.
Cech out for 1 month could be the deciding factor if chelsea is to win the league title or CL.with Hilario between the posts, I am afraid chelsea BPL and CL title aspirations take a nosedive with yesterday defeat. when was the last time could you see a team went to stamford bridge and score 4 goals? it could be very well that Mourinho Inter knock out chelsea due to Hilario inept goalkeeping. He must be relishing with glee when he heard that cech is out for 1 month.
chelsea missing cole, essien and cech and with JT scandal affecting his form, chelsea is a team in a crisis mode. I wonder if drogba is out injured, who will sustain chelsea BPL and CL title aspirations?
Terry has been very poor lately... Making quite a lot of costly mistakes along the way... Against Everton, Inter and now City... Even against Wolverhampton he was very lucky Cech was around to saved him and prevented Wolverhampton from scoring when he made a mistake...
this is good news for inter, man united and arsenal. arsenal having the easiest of the remaining fixture lists, may sneak in behind to win their first title since 2004. this may be the mother of all come back if they does win the title. for chelsea, if they dun the title, it could be the JT scandal that broke the camel's back.
could this be the start of the end for john terry?

I think Pool and Villa ever score 4 pass Chelsea but can't recall if it was at the Bridge or not though... Anyone can remember?
I dunno, but this scandal is sure affecting his professional career on the pitch. nobody respect him anymore, both in chelsea and england team.

pool one is the ucl game right? heard the commentators talking about it.
chelsea still have to travel to united and liverpool away. in between the 2 matches, they also need to face villa and spurs. chelsea has 4 very difficult matches if they are to win the title. if Inter knock them out of CL, they may be deflated and demoralised and this does not bode well for the BPL title aspirations. i am sure Mourinho is now plotting for his players to cross and shoot at every opportunity at Hilario.
its a conspiracy to make the title race more challenging. but i dont mind. i support great soccer.
i actually like that man city is becoming a serious challenger for silverware and even aston villa and spurs are also getting better and better. not to mention many other teams have improved this season like birmingham, fulham, stoke.
with chelsea out with so many injuries and JT scandal, saturday's 4-2 loss to city was a major blow to them. it will be fascinating how they cope without the loss of cech, essien and cole.
Ancelotti usually lose to Mancini when they were in Italy... Well, now looks like in England as well.
I heard that was the first time Chelsea was beaten at the Bridge since 37 matches ago, and 17 yrs since City took all 3 points from the Bridge... And 51 yrs since City did the double over Chelsea... Looks like Blue Moon indeed rising...
Anyway, I guess someone up there chose the best timing for City to beat Chelsea... A little justice was done afterall towards Bridge over his sick ex-good friend's betrayal...
Ancelotti is probably seething inside, that he could do without the JT scandal. He must be angry with JT for creating a ruckus and a media circus, which at this stage of the season, he probably wish it without. Chelsea is already without essien, cole and cech. with Hilario making his first mistake as stand-in for cech, it does not bode well for Chelsea in the return leg of the CL against Inter, they could well be knocked out by Mourinho Inter due to the inept goalkeeping of Hilario. they could also lose some points and lose the lead by the time cech is back after 1 month.

dun chelsea have a decent replacement for cole at LB? where is that ferrara, the portugese RB? he used to double up for chelsea at LB during Mourinho's time, is he still out injured?
Snubbed: Wayne Bridge dodges John Terry's proffered hand
John Terry was saved from an embarrassing pre-match stand-off at Stamford Bridge on Saturday after the handshake protocol was reversed by the referee.
Assistant ref Bobby Pollock suggested that Mike Dean, the best official in England on current form, ask Manchester City skipper Shay Given to lead his away team down the Chelsea line.
In domestic matches, the home team captain should lead his team down the away team line-up to ‘welcome’ them to their ‘home’.
The result of the change was that Bridge could stay on the move and avoid the handshake with Terry without an embarrassing stand-off. Had normal protocol been observed we could have seen Terry standing in front of Bridge demanding a reaction — nobody knows what could have ensued.
The match officials’ decision, which spared Bridge that and allowed him to make his point with dignity and minimum fuss, should be recognised and acknowledged.
As should Dean’s performance in the match.
The two penalties awarded and two red cards were correct during an absorbing game.
wow fantastic attention to detail. now come to think of it, what would have happened if JT came to Bridge and demanded a handshake? hahaha.
Bridge blues at Stamford Bridge lol
after what JT has done to bridge, he has the cheek to demand lol? I dun think so. I think the most is they both ignore each other and stand with their hands on their hip and maintain a glorified silence before leading their team out. its an embarrasement to both players, JT and Bridge as the world knows that JT was the guilty party and Bridge was the victim.

That dude was fine and can play, he was in the substitutes bench. The problem with him is he is slow, thats all. I just hope Zhirkov can come back asap.

this match ref gave belleti a straight red and penalty for clipping barry in box, yet
in league cup final, vidic pull agbonlahor shirt then tackle him down. only penalty and not even a yellow card. fergueson also admitted that vidic got lucky avoiding a sent off.
really is double standards
