IRELAND: Hopes Arsenal move for him
STEPHEN IRELAND is so disillusioned with life at Manchester City that he's hoping Arsenal step up their interest this summer.
The Irish midfielder has failed to win the faith of new manager Roberto Mancini and is becoming increasingly frustrated at Eastlands.
Ireland scored in the corresponding fixture at Anfield, a 2-2 draw, and was a key figure under Mark Hughes - particularly last season.
Toure, 28, has been a disaster since signing from Arsenal in July for £15million and his place has been under scrutiny for weeks.
Mancini paired Vincent Kompany with Joleon Lescott in training yesterday ahead of the biggest match of City's season.
Centre-back Toure has complained of various injuries all week but will undergo tests this morning.

of course. Uk players have little flair compared to the european players. last time UK players got world class players with flair were hoddle, waddle, barnes, gascoigne. now the best of the lot is rooney.

for goodness sake, go sign someone like daniele from Roma to replace fabregas, not Ireland. or go sign back flamini from Milan.

i thinkfab departure is a matter of time.
just look at anelka, henry, adebayor, vieira. when rumours start, it could means a season or 2 before they depart.
no wind, no wave.

fabregas is over-rated, at least at the current stage.
if he is that good the bigger or richer teams would have offered long ago.

fabregas is only 22, he can only get better and he will in a few years time. fabregas is the ready replacement for xavi in a few years time, as xavi is 30 this year.

Ramsey is the heir to Fabregas. Lets not forget they have jay emmanuel thomas, Merida, Lansbury and Wilshere as well.
If fabregas can be sold for a huge amount of money, then take it please and use that money to buy some decent defenders, goalkeepers and another defensive midfielder.
Clichy and Denilson have been a joke this whole season. So is almunia and fabianski.
With Chamakh already confirming to be joining arsenal next season on a free transfer, then we have no short of strikers with RVP, Bendtner and Arshavin still present. Throw in Walcott, Vela and Eduardo.
I believe aaron ramsey is ready to step up and replace fabregas, but who is going to be ramsey's deputy then is another question.
Selling Clichy and Fabregas this season could fetch arsenal another $56 million pounds in transfer dealings. Add this up to the original $30 million pounds that they always have, I am sure arsenal can buy some decent replacements. If this is it, then maybe just get Ireland, since he is a more experience playmaker than Ramsey.
But the focus for arsenal is still on GK, defenders and defensive midfielder.
