  Chelsea are ready to make a £30 million bid for Barcelona fullback Daniel Alves.

  The Daily Star says Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti wants a new right-back and the Brazilian fits the bill. But he will face competition from Manchester City for his signature.

  Chelsea will be free to enter the transfer market this summer now that their FIFA transfer ban has been overturned. The Italian boss has been using Branislav Ivanovic at right-back this season, but the Serbian is naturally a central defender.

  Alves has been linked with Chelsea before but he chose to go to Barcelona in 2008 from Sevilla instead.

  His contract runs out in 2012 and Chelsea want to try and use that to lure him to Stamford Bridge.

  Probably it is a rumor....Bosingwa did a great job in RB last season... it is just unfortunate that he was injuried for a long time this season.

  Chelsea are ready to take advantage of Barcelona's bid for Cesc Fabregas by launching a £30million raid for Dani Alves this summer.

  It is understood the Brazil full back, widely renowned as the finest right back in the world, has emerged as Carlo Ancelotti's top transfer priority when the window re-opens at the end of the season and the Catalan club could be forced to sell.

  According to reports in Spain the reigning European champions are close to agreeing a five-year deal worth £5.7m per year with the Arsenal captain but they may have to offload one or two big names to fund the mega money transaction.

  no defender, not to mention leftback or rightback is worth more than 20 million pounds, not even Ramos, or Clichy or Sagna.

  Sounds bogus to me when a few days ago there was this news about Barca setting sights on securing able reserve for Alves on the Right Back Berth.

  Anyway, Chelsea has 2 right backs: Ivanovic and Bosingwa. Michael Mancienne is currently on loan at Wolves. Do they still need Alves? And the team is turning into a 30 yrs old club, shouldn't it be time for a change in new and younger blood?

  He did play at 2 games back & help wif the win. Unlike Hargraves & Anderson, the 2 handball cheats which Fergie himself gave up on.

  Even Fergie himself dun seems quick to praise Rooney who can only perform like Veron, a former Devil.

  Ivanovic and Mancienne are DC. They are not natural fullback.
