SingTel scores with Carling Cup Final
SINGAPORE - The Feb 28 Carling Cup Final between defending champions
Manchester United and Aston Villa will be shown exclusively on mio TV.
In a statement on Friday, SingTel said mio TV had won the broadcast rights to the 2009/10 cup final.
Football
Frenzy subscribers and those who have taken up the Barclays Premier
League early bird offer will be able to watch the match at no charge on
Channel 61.
A rejuvenated Villa, currently seventh in the
Premiership table, will attempt to lift the cup from United at the
Wembley Stadium.
"We are very pleased to be bringing the thrills
and excitement of two of the best teams competing for the Carling Cup
title to our viewers," said Mr Tim Carmichael, vice-president for mio
TV.
"If the semi-finals were anything to go by, the finals should prove to be an exhilarating fight to the finish.
"Having
recently extended our BPL early bird offer, this gives fans yet another
reason to sign up early and enjoy the many benefits."
In the
semi-finals, United overcame a 2-1 first-leg deficit to beat neighbours
Manchester City 3-1 with a late Rooney goal to advance 4-3 on aggregate.
Villa,
on the other hand, qualified for their first major final for 10 years
after beating Blackburn Rovers 6-4, to go through 7-4 on aggregate.
As a lead-up to the Final, mio TV will also broadcast both legs of the semi-finals on Football Frenzy.
Pua CB!!
so?
look at the world cup bid, i rather they do something abt it.
FA Cup next? :o
Won't take the FA cup lah... Cos next year, Singtel get the League and Champions league already so maybe they will arrange the FA cup and maybe even the Carling cup to be with Starhub so as to give them some business... Their owners will play around with it and make sure people will have to subscribe to both providers in order to watch all the matches... lol.
Lolx nia

i wont subscribe just because of the carling cup.
