Why whould this team wanna come to sg where there are small stadiums, humid weather and spicy food?
Even Ligue 3 stadiums command bigger crowds than ours. I suspect these bunch are between Ligue 3 or 4 standards. A shortchange for us.
Yes should be from division 3 or 4 or ameture team.
I rather send spore players over there to play in division 3 or 4.
Send at least 3/4 of our international players to play in europe.
Does the team even exist at the moment when the club has just been form? Or are they just about to gather a bunch of journeyman to form a team? Etoile FC... lol. Sounds like Toilet FC... lol...
First euporean team in S-League
The mentality of the PAP can really be reflected well in moves such as these. The root cause is because the head suffers from an identity crisis and secretly fears and despises the local people.
This is actually quite true, but can never be made public.
It must be suppressed and destroyed.

Are they really this team at their country?
If they play like any local clubs, that's will not improve our local football standard.
Brunei already out? I love this team. Make all local clubs wake up.

Etoile FC is a French professional soccer club which was formed to play as a foreign team in Singapore's S.League in 2010.
Their name means star in French, and Etoile FC is the first European team to ply their trade in Singapore's professional league, as well as being the first in Asia.
Former Newcastle United and French star David Ginola will be the club ambassador.
Etoile FC became the eighth foreign team to compete in the S-League after Sinchi FC (2003), Albirex Niigata (2004), Sporting Afrique (2006), Liaoning Guangyuan and Super Reds (both 2007), Dalian Shide (2008) and DPMM (2009).

PAP even destroyed our Singapore football culture.
Hopefully it will bring spore national team to a new level.
To be on par with middle east country.
But at least for now, no foreign team has ruled both S League and Singapore Cup.

Miss their football style.
They were on the verge of getting League Cup after losing to Gombak in grand finals 2 seasons ago.
Hey if singapore players cant play in Europe then get European teams to play in Singapore....Wow! what a brilliant idea>LOL
why the heck these Ang Mohs wanna play in our ASS-League ?????
if they win the league title, there's no glory..............only shame if they don't.............and their players can only get worse playing in this Mickey Mouse league.................
a real ARSE League................
Funny that there is another Chinese club coming in, (a satellite team of the Chinese Super League club Beijing Guoan F.C)....
Didn't know there is a Brunei team in our S-League: Brunei DPMM FC.
Albirex Niigata FC (S) has been here the longest among the foreign teams.
Did Super Red play aganist Albirex Niigata in the season?
To imporve our std, they must bring in foreign clubs that is 1 ro few notch above the rest of the local club.
Not bring in those lousy foreign club to play here.
Also let Manchester United reserve team join S League too =P
So as to attract more Singaporeans playing Man U in future (Most probably Carling Cup)

Not reserve team, is trainee team. Reserve team too good. Wait every match we see the score 6:0. 7:0. 8:0. 9:0. 10:0....malu.
I suggest inviting all the pariah teams who cant play soccer from countries like Brazil,England ,Germany......or even Japan. Each time they kena thrashed by the local teams it will boost the confidence in Singapore born players. That is what Japan does sometimes ,they invite big name teams but with a kucing kurap line up to ensure themselves of a clear victory and a fair chance to let their star players get back their form.
clearly, the FAS management is running out of ideas, and trying this formula of bringing in a foreign team to spice up the local football scene.
however, they fail to note the sharp decline in local quality.
why so far to invite european? y not vietnam or even thai? they are more a match for our local boys as seen in the SEA? and they won't need such a long time to adjust to our conditions.
Bringing foreign teams into the S-League will not improve the standard of the league. I remember reading somewhere where the phrase "One of the top 10 league in Asia" coming out from the mouth of a FAS management personnel.
The 10 leagues are Australia, Japan, China, South Korea, Singapore, India, Iran, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Our S. League was officially recognised by AFC as one of the top 10 professional leagues in Asia after satisfying 63 stringent criteria set by the AFC Pro League Evaluation team. This is certainly due recognition and affirmation of the progress made by our S.League over the past 13 seasons from Asian Football’s governing body. This earned Singapore a play-off slot for admission to the prestigious 2009 AFC Champions League.
Clearly, they think that they have done everything they can and is proud that the league is among the top 10 but are you sure Malaysia and Indonesia league is worse than Singapore's? Personally, i dont think so, in terms of the crowd, stadium, gameplay, S-League fared so much worse. I don't remember any fullhouse in any stadium when S-League started way back in 96 even though free tickets were given out!
Let me just suggest some ways which the league can improve:
Jersey Design and Sponsor
How many of you feel that the jersey S.League teams are sporting now are fugly, raise your hands? 1, 2, 24. 68... ok i lost count. I think many of you would agree with me that with a good jersey design coming from reputable jersey sponsors (Adidas, Nike, Puma, Umbro etc) will make you have the urge to purchase the jersey.
Just to add on to that, there's no other means to purchase local football club jerseys other than to head down to their stadium and hopefully, the kind lady over at the counter sells it to you. Why not have a shop - An S-League shop that sells all S-League Merchandise?
Promotion Partner
The Major League Soccer (MLS) in the US has joint program with Adidas to uncover future young talents called Generation Adidas.
Foreign Talent
It's a funny thing with S-League teams where foreign players come and go. Do the FAS recognise this problem? Yes, the limit is 4 per club but can the clubs bring in foreign players that are within the same region that can adapt to the climate?
I do not recall any ang moh enjoying much success in the league as compared to their ASEAN counterparts. I can name ASEAN players like Therdsak Chaiman, Suttee Suksomkit but not any European or South American player (Goodness me, i just recalled this supposed Brazilian Football star Tampines Rovers signed that flopped so badly, he returned home in last than a month!)
And stop converting foreign players into local so that you can bring in more FT. Rememebr Mirko Grabovac and Egmar Goncalves? I rest my case.
Cheerleading
I must say that although the spirit of support must be commended, the loud banging of drums and gongs and senseless shouting is very irritating. I think all would agree that cheering together would be so much better than the sound of the drums and gongs.
And cheerleader?! You call that cheerleading? A cheerleader is a person who leads spectators in traditional or formal cheering, especially at a pep rally or athletic event. Can you even make out whats coming out of their mouth?
In conclusion, i think FAS can look into the model that MLS is currently using as S-League and MLS started off at about the same time but MLS is always on the incline but S-League seemed stale.
Just my 2 cents worth.
