  Former Wigan Athletic striker and current Zamalek star Amr Zaki is close to agreeing a loan move to Hull City until the end of the season.
  
  The Egypt international, who spent last season on loan with the Latics and scored 11 goals, is set to undergo a medical at the KC Stadium.
  
  Hull, currently lying second from bottom in the Premier League table, will hope he can hit a scoring run once again with the Tigers.
  
  A statement on the player's official website said Zaki could be in England as early as this weekend.
  
  "The Tigers will sign the Egypt striker on loan until the end of the season subject to passing a medical test," the statement read.
  
  "Zaki had a meeting alongside his agent with the Zamalek board and agreed the transfer to go through."

  El Zamalek striker Amr Zaki says he's joining Hull City.

  The 26-year-old, who spent the 2008-09 season on loan at Wigan from Zamalek, has been linked with a host of Barclays Premier League clubs and Portsmouth reportedly had a bid rejected in August.

  A statement on the Egypt international's official website, amrzaky.com, read: "AmrZaky.com can reveal that Amr Zaky will fly to England to have medical test at Hull City football club on Saturday.

  "The Tigers will sign the Egypt striker on loan until the end of the season subject to passing medical test.

  "Zaky had meeting alongside his agent with Zamalek board and agreed the transfer to go through.

  "Zaky, who struck 11 league goals during his time as a Latic (sic), drew comparisons to Newcastle United and England legend Alan Shearer due to his formidable strength and ability to find the net."

  Egypt and El Zamalek striker Amr Zaki has announced on his official website that he has signed a five-month loan deal with Hull City.
  
  It will be the 26-year-old's second Premier League stint after spending last season on loan at Wigan Athletic.
  
  Zaki struck eight times in his first ten games for the Latics, but was not offered a permanent move after then-manager Steve Bruce branded him "the most unprofessional [player] I have ever worked with".
  
  The forward repeatedly failed to return on time from international duty, but Hull boss Phil Brown will be hoping the Zamalek man can add much-needed firepower to the struggling Tigers.
  
  He is currently sitting out the African Cup of Nations due to injury, but was apparently able to convince the Premier League side of his fitness before signing.
  
  Tony Pulis' Stoke City had also been in the running for Zaki's services, but appear to have lost out to their counterparts from Humberside.
  
  Neither club has yet commented on the deal, but the forward's official website is already decked out in the Tigers' stripes, with the following announcement:
  
  "Egypt star striker Amr Zaki has moved to Hull City on loan [for] the rest of the season.
  
  "Zaki's passed [a] medical test and signed for [the] Tigers on a five months loan deal."
  
  Earlier on Sunday, Goal.com Arabia reported that Zaki had told Egyptian newspaper Addustor that he had passed a medical and hoped to "build a new future" at Hull.

  Hull announce deal for El Zamalek striker Zaki

  Hull City have announced the signing of Amr Zaki.

  In a statement of their website, Hull confirmed: "We are pleased to confirm the loan signing of Amr Zaki from Zamalek FC.

  "The player yesterday signed a loan agreement until the end of the season to join Hull City AFC.

  "As is the case with all non-EU transfers, there are work permit and other red tape issues still to be confirmed but we are expecting the player to return to England and join Hull City on Friday this week.

  "The playing contracts are signed and confirmed, however the final details must be undertaken before the loan can commence."
