Liverpool are interested in signing Atletico Madrid winger Maxi Rodriguez but could face competition from Boca Juniors.
According to Goal.com, Maxi is itching to be selected for Argentina for the World Cup finals in South Africa but he has not been selected regularly for Atletico.
Although Maxi's current contract with the Madrid side will expire at the end of the season, the 28-year-old will demand for a move in January in order to get first-team football.
Liverpool's Rafael Benitez who knows La Liga well, could swoop for the winger to boost his side's chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season.
Boca Juniors too have expressed their interest in the player.
It's also been reported that Maxi has met with Atletico president Enrique Cerezo to discuss his future. So far the Primera Division side have not made much noise about retaining the player beyond the summer.
